Insurance and Billing
We accept most insurance plans, listed are some of the most common ones. Please note that some plans we might be “out of network” but we can often bill as an “out of network doctor” and the claims will be paid at the approved level. Insurance plans that we are not contracted with (Cole Vision, Spectera, Davis Vision, etc.) we can supply you with an itemized receipt so that you may seek reimbursement. We will always bill your primary insurance and provide you the information to bill a secondary.

As a courtesy to our patients we verify insurance benefits before your appointment. If we come across insurances we cannot bill, we always try and call you with that information so you are informed of this before your appointment. Dealing with insurance companies can be confusing and the more information you can provide when making an appointment, the better we can provide your overall eye health. Please give us both your medical and vision insurance information when making an appointment, this helps us to know the right benefits we are billing for at the time of your visit. Both types of insurance will help pay for your eye care services. Vision care plans will only cover routine vision exams along with eyeglasses and/or contact lenses. Vision insurance does not cover diagnosis, management or treatment of eye diseases. Medical insurance will cover any eye health problems, management or treatment of eye diseases or a systemic health problem that has ocular complications. If you have both types of insurance plans it may be necessary to bill some services to one plan and the other services to the other. We will use coordination of benefits to do this properly and to minimize your out of pocket expenses.
